Don has been playing acoustic guitar for over 30 years, and has also studied sitar for most of that time. He was generous enough to contribute a number of original songs for use in Bird Hunters, and to record a number of custom arrangements to synchronize with the film. He is located in Rochester and is preparing to record an album. (No current website.)
Frank Boehm / Bear Bones
Bear Bones, comprising Frank Boehm, Sonam Targee and Pete Mugnolo, is an eclectic musical group from Rochester, NY that began as a trio in the fall of 1996, adding elect ric guitars, drums and a vocalist a year later. Bear Bones plays original songs and ethno-flavored instrumentals. The song "Jahniqua," which is heard during the last scene of the film, is from their first album, entitled Sacred Grove. (No current website; Frank and Bear Bones play out around Rochester, NY.)
Jack Edward Smith
Jack is an eclectic guitarist composer from Upstate New York. He specializes in nylon string guitar and has studied with students of the renowned Paco Pena and Diego del Gastor. After decades of study in various styles, Jack continues to create a synthesis of old and new musical forms. He draws power from Flamenco and the World Beat to deliver music that often reflects the soothing warmth of a tropical land.
